Program Note: This song is a follow-up to my song cycle about the Salem Witch Trials of 1692. It explores Abigail Williams, a teenage girl who was one of the most prolific accusers of witches, leading many to imprisonment or death. This song explores how her feelings of entrapment in her gender role manifests in the witch trials.
